Hi, I'm Mary, the proud owner of B. Lime.
I was a customer of B. Lime in the storefront and online before it closed. The previous owner of B. Lime, Wendi, and I have daughters that are just 5 days apart. As she was starting to carry more green baby products in her store, I was starting to use them! Needless to say, I felt really sad when she announced she was closing. I selfishly felt the loss- where was I going to buy Charlie’s Soap? I also felt sad for our community though- why couldn’t a Green Store flourish in C-U?
I was 7 months pregnant at the time, with a full-time job at the University, so it was certainly not an immediate decision for me to pursue purchasing the B. Lime brand. But it was constantly on my mind. While I was up in the middle of the night with pregnancy-related insomnia, I was envisioning how I could do it. A few weeks later, I remember telling my husband that I just couldn’t let it go. So I met Wendi for tea, and here we are!
I consider myself someone who "lives limes," that is, I do what I can to be green. It is tough to be 100% green, but livin’ lime is doable. I now have three daughters! After endless diaper rash, we started cloth diapering our first when she was one. We started cloth diapering our second when she was two months old (once she fit into the one-size diapers). We started cloth diapering our third when she was just a few hours old- we even brought our newborn diapers to the hospital with us! She was 6 lbs, 14 oz at birth. Here she is in a Lil' Joey by Rumparooz.
